Higher education is one of the best ways to close the gap on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander disadvantage, however, participation rates among Indigenous students are currently still below population parity.
UTS has a bold vision to establish Australia’s first Indigenous Residential University College on the land of the Gadigal people in Sydney. The College will be transformational for young Indigenous Australians, raising aspiration, increasing higher education opportunities and paving the way for quality employment and contribution to society.
And big business has a role to play too. Evidence shows that transformative impact is possible in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people when organisations intervene deliberately, positively and purposefully.
Join our esteemed panel of Indigenous leaders in community, education and industry as they discuss the importance of a collective approach in closing the education gap and creating strong career pathways for young Indigenous Australians.
