Innovation and Opportunity for NSW

With technology driven disruption impacting all industries, the AICC was delighted to recently host the NSW Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology the Hon Anoulack Chanthivong MP to update AICC members on how the NSW state government is accelerating advances and supporting growth.

The Minister, speaking to Building NSW’s Innovation Economy”, shared his vision for the state’s competitive advantages regarding innovation, domestic and advanced manufacturing, and NSW’s approach to federal and industry collaboration, as well as discussion on social policy issues around employment and future skilling.

The boardroom briefing was hosted by AICC member Michael McLeod, Co-Founder and Chair and Helen Bouropoulos, Chief Executive Officer of Message Stick Communications. Message Stick, a unique business that is owned by Aboriginal Australians and, since its founding in 2003, has provided communication services to large corporations and government agencies with no external grants or funding.

Michael McLeod was able to share his viewpoint and that of Message Stick Communications on the upcoming October 2023 referendum regarding Constitutional change for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
