Jo Scotney has over 25 years’ experience in structured finance across multiple jurisdictions.
As General Manager – Institutional Property & Heath at ANZ, she leads an experienced team of bankers supporting property and health institutional customers across Australia. In this role she has significant connectivity with major customers across all segments of property and construction and the growing business of health including retirement living, aged care, specialist disability accommodation and hospitals.
She started her career as a lawyer with Australian firm Mallesons, then Allen & Overy in London and Brown & Wood in New York. Her experience structuring and arranging infrastructure and project finance transactions lead to an in-house role with global engineering, construction & project management firm Bechtel Enterprises supporting their investment in major infrastructure projects.
Returning to Australia via a short stint in Tokyo, she joined ANZ and spent 14 years in the Institutional Division working in corporate finance and client coverage including origination, portfolio and strategy roles. She returned to ANZ in January 2023 following three years leading a corporate and property team at National Australia Bank.
