Israeli Trade Commissioner to Australia I Israel Trade and Economic Commission

Ohad Blumberg has been with the Israel Ministry of Economy and Industry’s Foreign Trade Administration (FTA) since 2014 and became the Israeli Trade Commissioner to Australia in September 2022.

The Israel Trade and Economic Commission (ITC) is headquartered in Sydney and is the commercial and investment arm of the Embassy of Israel in Australia, part of the Foreign Trade Administration, under the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry.

The goal of the ITC is to promote, enhance and facilitate trade, investment and industrial R&D cooperation between Australasia and Israel. The ITC serves as a gateway between the Israeli and Australian business communities, as well as between governmental agencies.

It focuses on the strengths and requirements of both the Australasian and Israeli markets, working to develop strategic bilateral partnerships through identifying exciting new investment opportunities and performing scouting activities for Australasian companies and corporates to integrate Israel’s cutting-edge technology innovations.

Prior to coming to Australia, he was the Director of the Economic Department responsible for all trade-related economic analysis within the Ministry of Economy and Industry and before that the Chief of Staff to the Director of FTA. He has also held positions with Strauss Group, El-Al Airlines and the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

He holds an MBA (Accounting and Strategy) from Tel Aviv University and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economic and International Relations from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
