The Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce hosted a Young Business Forum event for emerging business leaders in partnership with EY on 22 March. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are set to dramatically reshape the nature and meaning of ‘work’ in the decades to come. A panel of leaders moderated by EY Managing Partner, Oceania Advisory Lynn Kraus addressed what this was likely to mean for employment, the workforce, and career development.

Passiona Cottee is a Data Scientist with the New South Wales Treasury and a Masters of Data Science and Innovation degree candidate at the University of Technology Sydney. Passiona currently works at the NSW Data Analytics Centre (the DAC), the New South Wales Government’s data science hub. Having spent the past decade in the management of metadata, she has extensive experience in data architectures, platforms, and applications across both the public and private sectors.

Nick Abrahams advises on technology-related merger and acquisition/investment, IT procurement, telecommunications, content, and data privacy/cyber-security matters. He co-created the world’s first AI-enabled privacy chatbot and co-founded Australia’s leading online legal service, LawPath.

Matthieu Recugnat is the co-founder of Odio, an AI and conversational bot powered eHealth platform for personalised hearing rehabilitation delivery. He is also completing a Biomedical Engineering PhD currently at Macquarie University. He has previously worked in the Cochlear Implant industry as a research engineer with a focus on brain-machine interface modelling.

Sagie Davidovich is an Israeli technology entrepreneur and angel investor who strives to bridge the gap between the human and machine reasoning and interaction. Before founding SparkBeyond, an artificial intelligence-powered research engine which finds complex patterns in data by understanding their meaning, he was General Manager and Senior Vice-President Research & Development of newBrandAnalytics, Vice-President Research & Development at AdExtent, Data Science & Semantic Reasoning Leader at Semantinet, and co-founded and was Chief Technology Officer of social search engine Delver.
